Background

Wondros is a mission-driven agency recognized for its work in public health, social justice, and human rights. Through its involvement in clinical trial research, the agency combined technology, outreach, and community engagement to improve diversity in patient recruitment. Building on this foundation, founder Jesse Dylan launched the Wondros Health Clinical Trials Guide, a digital platform created to help patients, caregivers, and advocates more easily discover and access relevant clinical trials. Leveraging public trial data from ClinicalTrials.gov and powered by AI-driven smart search, WondrosHealth.com simplifies the clinical trial discovery process and is free for all users.

Project Overview

The project aimed to bridge the gap between clinical trial opportunities and those who need them most. WondrosHealth.com was envisioned as a dual-purpose platform: one that empowers patients with accessible, easy-to-understand information and one that provides trial sponsors with a space to better communicate trial details and connect with qualified participants. The platform was designed with equity, usability, and impact in mind, ensuring that critical research opportunities become more accessible and visible to the public.

Project Goals

This initiative had two key objectives:

  1. For patients, advocates, and volunteers – Create a user-friendly platform where individuals could:
    • Search for clinical trials in their area.
    • Understand trial details in layman’s terms.
    • Determine eligibility and connect with research opportunities for free.
  2. For clinical trial research sponsors – Provide a dedicated space where sponsors could:
    • Showcase their trial offerings with additional context.
    • Share helpful background information, videos, and brochures.
    • Improve recruitment efforts by attracting qualified candidates.

Scope

To achieve these goals, Wondros developed WondrosHealth.com, a centralized platform that connects patients with clinical trial opportunities. The site was built with:

  • AI-powered smart search to surface relevant clinical trials.
  • A user-friendly interface that simplifies complex medical terminology.
  • A free-to-use model ensuring accessibility for all patients and caregivers.
  • Editorialized sponsor pages that allow research organizations to better communicate trial details and requirements.

Results & Benefits

  • Greater Accessibility to Clinical Trials – Patients now have a simple, free tool to find potentially life-saving treatments.
  • Improved Patient Recruitment – Sponsors can better connect with qualified participants, helping to accelerate clinical research.
  • A Scalable, High-Impact Platform – WondrosHealth.com has the potential to expand and evolve, improving access to medical research for more people.
  • Challenges & Lessons Learned – The development process highlighted the importance of a sustainable business model. Future growth will require incremental improvements, monetization strategies, and ongoing investment to ensure long-term viability.

The Wondros Health Clinical Trials Guide was a labor of love, with the goal of helping as many people as possible. With further refinement and strategic expansion, it has the potential to be a transformative tool for both patients and researchers.
